IN SLIGHTLY MORE PROSAIC TERMS, IF YOU’RE THE ROCKSTAR WITH THE PASSION, THE DRIVE, AND THE GREAT IDEA, WE’RE THE GUYS WHO WILL GIVE YOU THE RESOURCES TO MAKE THAT IDEA COME TO LIFE. WE’LL ADD OUR TIME, MONEY, AND EXPERIENCE TO YOUR BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS, AND – WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LUCK – WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO CREATE SOME MAGIC TOGETHER.

  • We are agnostic at the stage we come in – we invest early (pre-revenue, pre-product, pre-launch); we invest at early-growth alongside our trusted GPs in mid-stage rounds of high-growth companies
  • We dig tech, deep tech and deep(er!) tech
  • The investment amount varies on your need, evolution, and our mood, of course

We are deeply focused in areas where we see opportunities for technology to reshape industries and create new ones.

RESPECT FOR THE ENTREPRENEUR

We’ve been there, done that, and know how nerve-wrackingly and back-breakingly hard it is. We respect the time spent every morning going over ideas on the throne, ideas that were just crude halfdrunken scrawls on a bar napkin. We feel grateful for an opportunity to be part of the beauty that entrepreneurs create, and if you ever catch us being cocky or disrespectful, shoot us.

WE NEED TO “GET IT” TO INVEST

You may have the best idea since sliced bread, but we might be too stupid to understand it – that’s our shortcoming, not yours. We might move on from it but hope you don’t.

WE’RE A TAD BIT NOSY

This nosiness could range from “no nosiness” (ostensibly) to “water cooler” kind of nosiness to nosiness that bruises. We’ve made a Pandora’s box worth of mistakes in our lives, and if nothing else, we can help you avoid at least those with our wide-ranging nosiness.

WE WILL SUPPORT YOU TO HELL AND BACK

We will question you, push you, and pain you, but we are rational, and if you can show us the wisdom of your ways, we will back down. (Or, we might ask you to settle it with Rock-Paper-Scissors.) There will be times when we kill you on the inside, but we will always defend you to death on the outside.

  1. 2008: launch of growX as a ‘management capital’ firm working with creative entrepreneurs. The first project was a restaurant and a speak-easy, lost fair bit of our capital to learn things the hard-way

  2. 2012: our first investment as an angel club. The bet was bold – backing Quandl, a marketplace for alternate data which got acquired by NASDAQ for a sweet price!

  3. 2015: Formally launched growX angel syndicate; backed a total of 23 ventures under this avatar. Started everything agnostic, took a few bullets and realized that B2B/ Enterprise is our thing even though Stashfin (a consumer lending company) is the most valuable company in our portfolio

  4. 2018: Our inaugural (first) regulated fund; built our deep-tech muscle and seeing some early signs of portfolio companies maturing.

  5. 2022: Re-set moment, back in the room, playing on the whiteboard – reimagining. rethinking plans to take growX forward

  6. 2023: Kicked off our syndicated investments to explore multiple investment strategies. Participated in nine investments ranging from Seed to Series B

  7. 2024: Our Fund II takes shape, building good momentum and working on an enhanced deployment strategy. Beyond excited!!
